Tee Ball

T-Ball is available to 4 year old girls. T-Ball is their entry point to the game of softball. The goal of this division is to build enthusiasm in the sport and introduce girls to the most basic elements of hitting, throwing, and fielding. Girls hit off of a tee and will run the bases. Each team bats their full lineup each inning and all players play the field while on defense, alternating positions each inning. RRGSA hopes to build a love for softball through the T-Ball division, which we hope the girls will carry with them long into the future!

6U

6U is designed for Girls who are 5 and 6 years old. The basic fundamentals of the game are taught focusing on the fundamentals of throwing, catching, hitting and running. Hitting is done from a tee for beginners, and as players progress, they learn to hit pitches thrown by a coach. The rules of the game are taught and reinforced for fair and competitive play.

8U

8U is designed for Girls who are 7 and 8 years old. The fundamentals of throwing, catching, hitting and running are reinforced and the game is designed to further enhance the players skill level. The speed of the game increases. Small elements of player pitching are introduced in order to acclimate girls to the environment of live pitching and catching. The vast majority of pitching is done by the coach and there is no Tee to hit off. The rules of the game are taught and reinforced for fair and competitive play.

10U

10U is the level in which the player faces solely live pitching from another player. Fundamentals are reinforced as the players take more responsibility and decision making in the field. Stealing bases is also introduced. The level of competition is increased and the complexity of the game continues to be unveiled to girls, but in an encouraging and engaging way.

12U/14U

The 12U/14U division enhances the players responsibility and assignments when playing defense. All pitching is done from a live pitcher. In game strategy is magnified as the players are learning to manufacture runs and limit the opposing team.
